SG counselling services
Hi, I am Shauna, a neurodivergent person-centred counsellor. I offer counselling in Middleton and surrounding areas. I offer a warm, supportive space where you can explore life's challenges without judgement.

My Background
My background is primarily working within special educational needs (SEN) education.
Throughout my career, I have supported children, young people and families through life's challenges, which deepened my understanding of the importance of feeling heard, accepted and understood.
As a neurodivergent person, I understand that the world can sometimes feel overwhelming, exhausting or difficult to navigate.
My lived experience helps me bring both personal understanding and professional insight to my work, creating a space where clients can feel safe to be themselves without judgement.
While I have a particular understanding of neurodivergence, I warmly welcome and work with all individuals.
Whether you are experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life changes, grief, stress, or simply feeling stuck, I offer a safe and supportive space to explore whatever is important to you.

My approach
I work from a person-centred approach, which means I believe that you are the expert in your own life. My role is not to tell you what to do or offer solutions, but to provide a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.
Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work. I believe that when we feel genuinely heard, accepted and understood, we are better able to make sense of our experiences, discover our own strengths and find a way forward.
